Killed cat’s owner appeals for responsible pet ownership

I would especially like to thank the woman who put up the post about my cat, as she witnessed this incident.

EDITOR – In the early hours of Friday morning, 1 July, my cat was attacked and killed by two pitbulls.

Two weeks prior to this, my landlord’s little dog was pulled through the gate and killed by two pitbulls.

This has taken place on the Bluff. There are other people whose pets suffered the same type of gruesome death.

By no means am I advocating that these are bad dogs, but rather I am asking that the owners be more responsible in trying to keep their dogs from getting out to roam the streets, and end up killing people’s pets.

My intention in writing this letter is to bring about more awareness, as my conscience will not allow me to sit back and do nothing. If the next victim is a human being, how will I be able to live with myself?

I would especially like to thank the woman who put up the post about my cat, as she witnessed this incident. Had she not had the presence of mind to put a notice up on a social media network, and my landlord’s daughter not seen it and informed me, then I would to this day still be looking for my cat, not knowing what had happened to him.

I pray that my cat, Ginger, had a quick death. My heartfelt condolences to people who have lost pets or know of people who suffered these type of attacks or deaths.

My cat was killed in Welfreer Road, and my landlord’s dog at our home in Lighthouse Road, toward Admiral Road, A Park Patrol man witnessed our dog being attacked, and a woman witnessed the attack on my cat.
