Seen through the eyes of a teenager

We’re all like crabs in one bucket

EDITOR – Our community is just filled with drugs and alcohol.

Alcoholism and teenage pregnancy really need to be changed.

Today we are faced with a challenge that looks like evil in our community which is killing children’s futures. We’re all like crabs in one bucket but in just trying to get out of there, we won’t end up achieving the goals we dream of.

As a 14-year-old, I’ve written this about our community in the hope that these words may bring about change in our people.

Seen through the eyes of a teenager

People out there listen
Jesus is love
The lord is my shepherd
I shall not want
People of the community
My words fly like a bird
I am like eagles’ wings
That fly on the clouds
I am not bowing down
To idiots
Like the rest of the community
Is the struggle that real?
But my pockets are filled
Woodville Road is blood
Flowing and filled
With thugs.
Drug dealers on the corners
SAPS is where?
Nowhere to be seen
This really needs to
Change in this community.
