Cultural Evening enchants learners and parents

The event was a get-together to celebrate diversity through a vibrant festival of food, music and dance that represented various countries from around the globe.

BLUFF Christian Academy (BCA) hosted a lively Cultural Evening on August 22, celebrating the richness of cultural diversity within the school community. Michelle Killian, the school’s marketer, described the event as a tremendous success, noting the large attendance and the enthusiasm from both learners and parents.

The event was themed ‘Cultural Evening: A Festival of Food’, where each class selected a country to represent. Students delighted attendees with traditional dishes from their chosen nations, offering a culinary journey around the world. Beyond the food, learners showcased their talents by performing songs, dances and other acts related to their selected countries, demonstrating both creativity and a deep appreciation for global cultures.

The highlight of the evening was the awarding of the Southlands Sun trophy to the Grade Six class for their outstanding representation of India. Killian praised the event’s success, highlighting the camaraderie among parents and the excitement of the learners, which contributed to an enjoyable and memorable night for all.

The Cultural Evening not only showcased the diverse cultures represented at BCA but also strengthened the sense of unity and community among students, parents and staff. With its resounding success, the event is set to become a highly anticipated annual celebration, reinforcing the school’s dedication to embracing and honouring cultural diversity.
