In a media statement, ALS Paramedics Medical Services said, “Paramedics were shown to a light deliver vehicle that had multiple gunshots on either side. Paramedics gained access to the man believed to be in his fifties from the rear of the vehicle. He had been shot multiple times, and there was nothing more paramedics could do for him, and he was declared deceased on the scene.”

KZN police spokesperson Captain Carmen Rhynes said Brighton Beach SAPS are investigating a case of murder.

“It is alleged the victim had left his place of employment in Archary Road in Clairwood and had turned into Chalmers Road to access Solomon Mahlangu Drive. He was held up in traffic. Two unknown suspects came running from Archary Road and began shooting at the victim through the windows. They then fled on foot towards Solomon Mahlangu Drive and disappeared in the traffic. No arrests have been made,” said Rhynes

The motive for the attack is unknown at this stage, however, SAPS attended and will be investigating further.
