A call to raise funds for The Bluff grandmother’s funeral

Marie Bateman will be laid to rest at the Stellawood Crematorium on March 5.

IN a heart-breaking turn of events, the community of The Bluff is coming together to raise R10 775 for the funeral of The Bluff resident, Marie Bateman, who tragically died on February 24.

Bateman’s health took a sudden turn when she fell ill. Megan Bester, the fiancée of Bateman’s brother, said that Bateman died peacefully due to heart failure. Bester said, “She always opened her heart and cared for anyone in need.”

Bateman dedicated herself to raising her granddaughters after their mother died at the end of 2022.
