With the aim of fostering safer and more harmonious environments within Wentworth, especially for the youth, Community Fathers has organised The Gift of a Day workshop. Darian Smith, Community Fathers director, said this initiative seeks to provide a platform for the children to explore their creative talents, build meaningful relationships and contribute to the community’s social fabric.

At the heart of this initiative is a call to action for the youth of Wentworth to participate actively in the workshop. Community Fathers is urging youngsters to seize this opportunity to engage in a day of music, drama and arts under the mentorship of local artists and community leaders.

“From 08:00 onwards, the children will meet with a renowned team of local singers, dancers, rappers, poets and artists. They will be split into groups and will work on creating an item around the theme of peace till 15:00. We will all come together to then create and practise our concert before showtime at 17:00,” said Smith.

Registration for the concert is now open, with spots limited to 100 children. Smith emphasised the importance of early registration to secure a place and avoid disappointment. Interested youth are encouraged to sign up and be part of this inspiring event that will allow them to learn and hone existing artistic skills.

In addition, Community Fathers is reaching out to the wider community to lend their support to the young participants. Parents, families and community members are invited to attend the free culminating concert at 17:00 on March 2, where the children will showcase their talents and creations.

This event presents an opportunity for the community to come together in solidarity and celebration, recognising the efforts and achievements of the youth.
