Crow urges community to recycle cardboard and plastic

The recycling project is a good source of income for Crow.

THE Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) has instituted a recycling initiative and is appealing to the Durban community to come through and drop off their recyclable products.

Eco-conscious individuals are urged to drop off their plastic bottles and cardboard boxes at the centre, situated at 15A Coedmore Avenue, Yellowwood Park, for recycling rather than consigning them to landfills. This not only reduces waste but also helps make a significant contribution towards the initiative.

The recycling programme has proven to be a substantial source of funding for their vital work. Through this initiative, the organisation is able to raise between R200 to R500 each month. This financial support translates directly into assistance for injured and orphaned animals under their care, with R500 being sufficient to provide nourishment for up to eight dassies.

“These small actions are making a big difference,” said Crow. “Every bottle and box recycled brings us closer to our goal of a more sustainable future for wildlife and our planet.”
