Runner collapses and dies on a Bluff road

The man, believed to be in his 60s, allegedly collapsed while he was jogging on the road.

A MAN, who is believed to be in his 60s, collapsed and died as he was jogging on Tara Road in The Bluff this afternoon (January 18).

Garrith Jamieson of ALS Paramedics Medical Services said a report about the runner was received just after 17:15.

“Paramedics arrived on scene to find that the runner had collapsed on the side of the road while exercising. Paramedics assessed the man, believed to be in his sixties, however, he showed no signs of life and was declared deceased at the scene,” said Jamieson.

He added that events leading up to the incident were not clear, but the police, who also arrived at the scene, will be investigating further.
