The family is aiming to raise R7.1 million. To help assist the family, the Bluff and Harlequin Harriers Athletics Club encourages the community to get involved in their 5km walk/run against cancer.

Members of the respective clubs have come together to rally the community to assist. Lindsay Kapp, a long-time member of Bluff Athletics Club, said the family needs all the exposure they can get.

Avanya Dhanuk, her mother, is imploring the community to join in and support the cause. Dhanuk shared that she is hopeful the event will be enough to raise a portion of the required funds and that she will see the community rally together when it matters.

The treatment will help to prevent a relapse once she is in remission.

The 5km walk/run is set to take place on January 27 at 08:00 – starting at the Bluff National Park Golf Club. The walk/run is open to everyone as it is a family-safe event, which takes you through the scenic routes of The Bluff.

Kapp revealed that the National Park Golf Club would serve as the starting and ending points of the walk/run.

Dhanuk said there will be a raffle prize giveaway.

Those who are interested in participating have to pay an entry fee of R100, which is payable through www.eventtiming.co.za, or you can secure your tickets at the door.
