Police investigate Bluff man’s fatal mystery shooting

Brighton Beach Police are investigating the murder of Terry Guy Viljoen.

BRIGHTON Beach detectives are probing the death of Terry Guy Viljoen, who was found with a gunshot wound to his head while still in his bed, on December 17.

According to police reports, a security officer was summoned to Viljoen’s house on The Bluff after receiving a call for assistance.

Captain Louis le Roux from the Brighton Beach Police Station said when the officer arrived at Viljoen’s home, he was informed by the complainant that she had witnessed the figure of a person running from the front of the house into the open garage.

“The woman and her children remained within the vehicle while the security officer conducted his investigation. The front door was found to be opened. The security officer entered and proceeded to investigate.

“His investigation led him to a bedroom where he found a male deceased on a bed with a head injury. It was later established by the paramedics on scene that the victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the head,” Le Roux added.

The investigation into Viljoen’s murder continues.
