Fluffy the owl moves to ICU enclosure

For the next phase of rehabilitation, Fluffy will be moved to a larger outdoor enclosure to test his wings.

FLUFFY, the resilient owl found near the Assagay Depot, has left the clinic at the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) and is being monitored at a spacious intensive care unit enclosure at the centre.

Fluffy’s nest was damaged, making it impossible for staff from the centre to return him.

The centre’s operations director and herpetologist, Clint Hallkett-Siddal, said Fluffy was carefully relocated and is being supervised by dedicated nurses at the centre.

“Our ICU is an outdoor enclosure, allowing Fluffy to experience natural surroundings while we closely monitor his progress. But that’s not all. Fluffy will soon move to a larger outdoor enclosure to test his wings and ensure he’s ready for the next phase of rehabilitation. Our goal is to strengthen his muscles and wings for the ultimate return to his natural habitat,” Hallkett-Siddal said.
