Bluff community organisation kicks off school collection drive

The Bluff Assist organisation appeals to parents to donate second-hand school uniforms, school shoes or sports equipment to the less fortunate.

COMMUNITY organisation Bluff Assist has launched their school-uniform collection drive and is urging parents to donate old uniforms in good condition to those who are less fortunate.

The organisation’s Chantal Bransgrove-Bower said parents whose children are either leaving school, starting a new school or have outgrown their uniforms can donate.

“This initiative is aimed at alleviating some of the financial burdens of parents who cannot afford to buy uniforms. We understand that the back-to-school shopping list can be overwhelming for many parents and hope this initiative will ease their burdens.

“Those who are able to donate can contribute uniforms, as well as new or second-hand school shoes, sports uniforms and sports equipment or shoes.

“We are also collecting new or used stationery. Together, we can create a sense of community and allow all children to start school with all of their needs met,” said Bransgrove-Bower.

To donate, contact Chantal Bransgrove-Bower on 083 734 2841. Alternatively, items can be dropped at the DJ stand at Harlequins Market on Saturdays between 08:00 and 13:00.
