Outpouring of support for wildlife centre

After the appeal that Crow made for donations, the wildlife centre has received support from the community and organisations.

PLEASED to share a heartwarming update on their recent appeal for support due to financial distress, the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) is thrilled to announce that the generosity of the public has been amazing.

Since launching the appeal on World Animal Day, the centre has experienced an outpouring of support.

Clint Halkett-Siddall, the centre’s operations director said, “We are deeply moved by the kindness of all donors. One-time donations from companies, individuals and trusts have bolstered our financial reserves.

“The 1000/100 Club has gained new members, providing invaluable monthly support for our ongoing mission. Generous donations of goods, such as paint and shade cloth, have helped us save valuable funds.

“People are organising fundraisers to rally support and ensure our wildlife friends get the care they deserve. This support has made an enormous difference, both now and in the long term.

“We’ve been able to protect our infrastructure and extend the time we need to secure future funding. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank each one of you for making this possible.”

Despite the financial boost from donations since the appeal, the centre is not out of the woods yet, and their rough journey in raising funds is not over.

“We still need help. Baby season is fast approaching, and the need for wildlife care is ongoing. We’re extending our appeal – there are various ways residents can make a difference.

“If you haven’t donated yet, consider doing so. No matter the amount, every rand counts and helps us care for our wildlife.

“Spread the word by sharing our story and the importance of wildlife conservation with your family, friends and community. People can also volunteer with us, whether in our clinic or as part of our digital marketing team.

“Purchase one of our fantastic wildlife calendars where 100% of the proceeds support Crow. Together, we are creating a lasting impact on wildlife conservation for generations to come,” he added.
