Just In: Dead newborn found in Merebank

A member of the public contacted the PT Alarms Tactical Unit upon the discovery of the newborn.

Police and the PT Alarms Tactical Unit at the scene in Merebank where the body of a newborn was discovered.

THE body of a newborn was discovered by residents in Nasik Road, Merebank, earlier today (October 18).

According to PT Alarms spokesperson, Dhevan Govindasamy, the PT Alarms Tactical Unit responded to a call from a client stating he discovered a deceased newborn.

“The circumstances surrounding the dumping of the baby will be investigated by Wentworth police, who were on scene,” Govindasamy added.
