Fire guts home on The Bluff

The Durban Fire Department has the fire under control and continues to monitor the house.

THREE teenagers are currently being treated for smoke inhalation after being caught in a house fire on The Bluff a short while ago.

Garrith Jamieson, the spokesperson for ALS Paramedics Medical Services, said, “Paramedics are currently treating the three occupants, one being a 16-year-old female who was in the house at the time that the fire started, and two males who rescued her.

“All three are currently stable and being treated for smoke inhalation. The Durban Fire Department has distinguished most of the flames and is currently dampening down and making sure no areas heat up,” he said.

Jamieson said that at this stage, the cause of the fire is unknown.

“However, all necessary authorities are in attendance and will be investigating further.”
