Police empower school girls for successful future

Learners of Durban South Primary School were educated about substance abuse and bullying.

IN COMMEMORATION of Women’s Month, Montclair police held a motivational talk at Durban South Primary School in Clairwood on Monday, August 7.

Sergeant Noma Nguni, Montclair police’s social and crime prevention coordinator, said almost 300 learners at the all-girls school were addressed on the importance of education and good behaviour to achieve success.

“We aimed to motivate them and that it was important for them to stay focused and study hard so that they can be successful and influential women in the future. We also spoke to them about the dangers of substance abuse and bullying. They were told that they should not be bullies, but empower one another,” she said.
