Foundation aims to empower youth toward a better future

The Merewest Community Foundation (MCF) aims to provide a variety of opportunities for youth, including workshops, scholarships, competitions, and help to open their own businesses.

HOPING to help the youth unlock their dreams and full potential, the Merewest Community Foundation (MCF) has launched a youth league and encourages those aged between 18 and 40 to join.

Premilla Deonath, the chairperson of the MCF, said there are many opportunities for youth, including workshops, scholarships, competitions, and help to open their own businesses.

“Best of all, they will be able to meet like-minded people, share ideas, initiate projects and talk about youth-related issues. We will also have experts and specialists brought in to address specific concerns.

“They will also have access to free certified courses in software development, project management, data analysis, and business analysis, among others.

Deonath said the youth will also be able to study for free online for many sought after qualifications.

“The MCF will also give reference letters for those wanting to apply for jobs or applying to study medicine. We aim to be the catalyst for our youth to take back their power and charter their own future,” she said.
