Formidable pair wins Big Jim competition

The bowlers had to battle in the rain for the prize of top spot.

IT was another great week of bowling at Wentworth Bowling kicking off with Tuesday morning’s Pig ‘n a Poke Drawn Competition. Taking first place was the combination of Graham Bransby, Barry Smith and Liz Bransby. The runners up were Robin DeGouveia, Kurt Spack and Ruth Petzer.

Both sets of winners were pleased with their winnings of Pork Fillets for first place and Pork Bangers for second. This is now a regular weekly competition on the calendar. Players need to register at 08:30 for 09:00 and the drawn format depends on the numbers.

All bowlers enjoyed a hearty breakfast and then took to the greens for the turn of the monthly Breakfast Trips on Wednesday. Walking away with the cash for first prize were the Hillary team of Andy, James and Sharon and the runners up were the Westville Country Club team. The second session prize went to the Wentworth team.
