WATCH: Wentworth police honours officers, fallen heroes on National Police Day

The day is in remembrance of the sacrifices that the men and women in blue have made for our safety.

IN commemoration of National Police Day, Wentworth police paid tribute to its officers for their efforts, and to their fallen heroes who had died in the line of duty and from illness.

The event was held at the station situated in Austerville Drive, Wentworth on January 27.

The day is aimed at remembering the sacrifices that the men and women in blue have made and continue to make as they provide safety for all who live in South Africa.

The day included various speeches from local pastors, the Merewent Community Police Forum, the Wentworth Victim-Friendly Centre and station commander Colonel Sinayo.

The day was concluded with a drill display, followed by a motorcade in the area, where anti-gender-based violence and carjacking-awareness brochures were distributed.
