Electricity outage ends

The main feeder cable was repaired.

AFTER about three days without electricity and water, residents in Ward 64 and 66 can finally return to normal living after the feeder cable causing an outage was repaired on the evening of January 24.

Ward 64 councillor Gavin Hegter said all areas should have their supply restored.

“Those households where water or electricity has not been restored should send a text on Whatsapp or an SMS to 072 821 1917.”

Residents from Woodlands, Yellowwood Park, Montclair and The Bluff were affected by a water outage after the electrical outage caused the Woodlands Reservoir tower to become dry on January 22.

A main feeder cable was damaged, affecting 36 substations.
