Father killed, child injured after being struck by vehicle in Montclair

Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the man on the scene, however his injuries were too severe, and he was declared deceased on the scene. The father is believed to have been attempting to save his child from being struck.

A father has been killed and his two-year-old child injured after they were struck by a vehicle on Kenyon Howden Road in Montclair on Saturday afternoon.
Rowan Scandroglio, the spokesperson for ALS Paramedics Medical Services said paramedics arrived on the scene a short while ago, to find total devastation.
“Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the man on the scene, however his injuries were too severe, and he was declared deceased on the scene. The father, who was in his 30s, is believed to have been attempting to save his child from being struck.

“His child sustained moderate injuries and was stabilised on the scene before being transported to a nearby Durban hospital for the further treatment that he required.
 Scandroglio said at this stage the events leading up to the accident are unknown.
“However,  SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further,” he said.
