Body washes up at Cuttings Beach

All relevant authorities are on the scene where the body was found, and investigations are underway.

THE body of an unidentified person who is believed to have been washed up on shore was discovered at Cuttings Beach in Merebank on Monday, January 9.
PT Ambulance Service, PT Alarms Tactical Unit, Metro Police Search and Rescue and National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) personnel are currently at the scene.
Dhevan Govindasamy, the spokesperson for PT Alarms, said it is alleged that a resident contacted PT Alarms Tactical Unit for assistance after sighting what appeared to be a body on the shore while visiting the beach.

“PT Ambulance Service and PT Tactical Units rushed to the scene where the body washed up. All relevant authorities were contacted and are on scene. Investigations are underway,” he said.
Police did not respond at the time of publishing.
