It is alleged that two male suspects were on foot, walked into a block of flats and opened fire at the residents of a particular flat, at about 14:50.

Victims were shot randomly at close range by the unknown suspects, who had their faces covered with balaclavas.
Wentworth police spokesperson, Captain Mbuso Gumede, said three men, aged between 31 and 46, were shot dead.

“Two bodies were still at the crime scene when the police from the Wentworth Vispol team arrived. The third victim died on arrival at hospital. A woman and a man were injured and were transported to hospital in stable condition. Detectives are investigating three cases of murder and two cases of attempted murder,” said Gumede.

Empty spent cartridges of high caliber firearms and a pistol were confiscated by officers who responded to the scene. Police are appealing to witnesses to come forward with information relating to the murders.
“Anonymity is guaranteed,” Gumede said.
