Support Kitty sterilisation drive this Christmas

Clare Burns, a member and foster mom for the organisation, said they will be running a steri-clinic, in partnership with Dr Yesh Govender, from the Montclair Animal Hospital.

HOPING to sterilise as many cats as possible, Kitty-Care Durban, a voluntary rescue organisation is appealing to the community to donate towards their Christmas Sterilisation Drive.

The organisation, which aims to rescue, foster, rehabilitate and rehome kittens and cats, was started almost a decade ago.

Clare Burns, a member and foster mom for the organisation, said they will be running a steri-clinic, in partnership with Dr Yesh Govender, from the Montclair Animal Hospital.

“We have agreed to have 30 cats sterilised, doing 10 at a time. The sterilisation will be done at hopsital, at a special rate of R450 per cat. Their ears will also be clipped. We have a few feral colonies that need to be done and have also received several calls from the public who can’t afford sterilisation, asking for assistance.

“Our first goal is to reach R4500 for 10 sterilisations, then another R4500 and so on until we reach our final goal to sterilise 30 cats. Please assist us by sponsoring a sterilisation, or even a portion of funds towards a sterilisation. We have also partnered up with another rescue organisation who can issue tax certificates for company’s who donate. We will also be happy to place the company name in a public post on our page to thank them for their donation towards this initiative. Let’s help make a difference this Christmas and sterilise as many cats as we can,” she said.
