Stranger danger highlighted to little ones at safety talk

Stranger danger was highlighted by Warrant Officer Krishna Nair, who displayed the ways in which children can be kidnapped, as well as how to stay safe.

WENTWORTH police station’s social crime prevention team visited the Oasis Educare in the Bluff to educate children about safety aspects which could affect them.

Little ones were engrossed in the presentation, held on October 28, aimed at teaching the learners about stranger danger, safety in public or home, and respect.

Communications officer of the Wentworth police station, Captain Mbuso Gumede, said children need to be made aware of the different types of harm that could come their way, therefore the presentation was conducted in a child-friendly, fun way.
Sergeant Natasha Mei taught them about the easy ways to remember certain numbers, including the emergency 10111 number, which they were encouraged to call in case of an emergency.
