Wentworth men shot outside Durban Magistrate’s Court

A third person, believed to be an employee at the court, was caught in the crossfire.

TWO Wentworth men and a bystander were shot outside the Durban Magistrate’s Court earlier this morning.

According to sources, one of the men, who was shot while exiting his vehicle outside the court, was due to appear in court for attempted murder, while the other was a friend of the accused.

A third person, believed to be an employee at the court, was caught in the crossfire and also injured.

Wentworth community leader, Tracey Williams, said while details of the condition of the injured men are still sketchy, residents hoped that this incident would shine the spotlight on the ongoing gun violence in Wentworth.

Provincial police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo confirmed the shooting and said police are still at the scene.
