Bottle store in Merebank robbed of over R20 000 cash
Two armed suspects entered the bottle store in Merebank and forced employees to lie down while they ransacked the premises.
A BOTTLE store in Merebank was robbed of over R20 000 cash after two unknown suspects intruded on the business and demanded cash. The incident happened around 14:30 on September 7.

According to PT Alarms, the owner of the store said the suspects brandished weapons and ordered the workers to lie down on the floor before they ransacked the business.
Spokesperson for PT Alarms Dhevan Govindasamy said the suspects then demanded cash, ultimately making off with approximately R20 000 to R21 000 before exiting the store.

“No one was injured during the heist. The suspects’ departure was notably swift, and no one reported seeing a getaway vehicle, leaving authorities without clear leads on their escape route.
“PT Tactical coordinated with local law enforcement to assist in the investigation. Authorities are currently analysing surveillance footage and interviewing potential witnesses to reconstruct the sequence of events surrounding the robber,” he said.
The store was temporarily closed as forensic experts and investigators examined the scene.
The public is encouraged to provide any information that could assist in apprehending the suspects.
