The Bluff singer set to smash stage at Durban Street Food Festival

The Bluff singer is set to take the stage once again at the upcoming festival of good tunes and good food.

THE Bluff’s very own Tristan Cole Boltman, a 23-year-old pop musician and rising star, will be one of the featured performers at the Durban Street Food Festival at The Pavilion Shopping Centre on September 6–8.

Boltman, who balances his burgeoning music career with his role as a candidate attorney, is set to kick off the festivities on Saturday morning (September 7) at 11:00. Publicist Illa Thompson said the festival promises a diverse line-up of quality live music spanning various genres, alongside an array of global urban food options in honour of Heritage Month.

Boltman joins a carefully curated roster of performers, bringing his unique sound to the stage. As an independent artist, he strives to create pop music infused with a variety of musical influences, making his performances both distinctive and relatable.

Boltman is particularly excited about the festival’s culinary offerings, revealing his love for a good smash burger. He’s already eyeing a post-performance meal: a bespoke smash burger with a special sauce crafted by Ahmed Dhooma from Foodwagon.

Opening for Will Linley

In addition to his upcoming performance, Boltman recently opened for Will Linley at the Umhlanga Food and Music Festival at Chris Saunders Park on August 25.

Reflecting on this opportunity, Boltman shared, “I saw that Will was touring South Africa this year on his ‘Magic Tour’ and took a chance by messaging him directly. To my surprise, he was incredibly supportive, helping me navigate through the right channels to apply as an opening act. It was an amazing experience to meet him, chat and witness someone my age achieving so much already. It was inspiring and a privilege to be part of the day alongside other talented artists.”

Boltman’s performance at the event was a notable success, with fans singing along to his original songs, an experience he describes as surreal. “Seeing people resonate with my music was incredible. The 45-minute set felt like it flew by, and it was a joy to see Durban turn out in large numbers to support both Will Linley and local artists,” he said.

As Boltman prepares for his upcoming performance at the Durban Street Food Festival, he remains grateful for the continued support of his fans and is eager to connect with new audiences. With his passion for music and his authentic, relatable personality, Boltman is quickly becoming one of The Bluff’s most promising musical exports.
