Pastor Malcolm Nair of Trinity Family Church, and one of the founders of Kairos Recovery, shared the meaning of Kairos Recovery. “It is a solutions-driven organisation in response to the rapidly growing addictive behavioural disorders in our community, which manifest in substance abuse, gambling, pornography and digital addiction, to mention a few. We provide a fully researched and clinically proven step-work programme that’s available in group settings and inpatient admission,” said Nair.

Reflecting on the significance of the event, he added, “It is fulfilling and rewarding to have reached this one-year milestone, knowing that this initiative has helped numerous individuals break the cycle of addiction and transition to a life of sobriety, maturity and destiny.”

The dinner was not just a celebration but also a moment of gratitude and recognition

He expressed his deep appreciation for the Kairos leadership team and facilitators, whose hard work and dedication have been instrumental in the success of the programme. The evening also featured stories of recovery and transformation, highlighting the journeys of those who have consistently worked towards their recovery, serving as an encouragement to others who are just beginning their path.

Testimony

One of the testimonies shared at the dinner was from Ashley Goss. He shared that Sam’s voice and Kairos Recovery have had a huge positive impact on his life. “Since my journey with recovery started, my spiritual and mental health has been restored. I walk in the light of my Heavenly Father. My daughter, who was taken away from me due to my addiction, has now been returned to me. Honestly, I have so much good to say, I don’t know where to start,” said Goss.

Nair raised awareness about the growing concern of digital addiction, which he referred to as ‘digital cocaine’, a new and socially acceptable addiction with severe consequences. He urged the community to become more knowledgeable about this issue and encouraged those struggling with addiction to attend the meetings or reach out to Kairos Recovery for support.
