THE Durban South Service Centre, affiliated with the Durban and Districts Association for the Aged (Dafta), hosted a special Women’s Month function in Merebank on August 21. The event was organised to honour and celebrate the pivotal roles women play within their communities.
Sharin Rajman, a member of the centre, highlighted that the purpose of the function extended beyond mere commemoration.

“The event was also intended to shine a spotlight on the significant achievements of women,” said Rajman. “We wanted to acknowledge and celebrate their contributions and successes, which often go unnoticed.”
The gathering featured various activities and presentations designed to recognise and uplift the women who have made impactful strides in their fields and communities. Attendees had the opportunity to reflect on the progress made and the continued efforts needed to support and empower women.
The event was met with enthusiastic participation and served as a meaningful occasion for both reflection and inspiration.
