Merle Henning, media liaison for Hocus Pocus Help, expressed her excitement about the new venture. “The Hocus Pocus thrift shop is a place where donated items that are not immediately needed can be sold at a low price or exchanged for food items,” Henning explained. “This initiative allows us to continue providing nourishment and support to families facing hardships.”

The thrift shop will feature a diverse array of preloved items generously donated by the community. Visitors can expect to find kitchenware, household items, clothing, bedding, toys, books and stationery. Henning noted that each item carries its own story and is ready to find a new home where it will be cherished once more.

“We gratefully welcome all donations of second-hand items. Every contribution helps sustain our mission of supporting families and individuals in need,” she said.

Funds raised through the thrift shop will be instrumental in expanding Hocus Pocus Help’s community outreach initiatives. “The money will be used to support those in need when our available resources fall short,” Henning said. “Additionally, it will cover essential operational costs, such as diesel for collecting and delivering donations.”

The thrift shop will be open every day from 07:00 until 20:00 at 259 Marine Drive, The Bluff. For more information, contact Merle Henning at 060 986 9403.
