Holiday programme sparks a wave of joy in Wentworth

The programme is designed to immerse children in biblical teachings through dynamic and enjoyable activities.

THE vibrant community of Wentworth witnessed an inspiring Vacation Bible School (VBS) holiday programme hosted by Meals on Wheels in collaboration with the Wentworth Seventh Day Adventist Church, from June 24 to 28. Themed ‘Thunder Island’, the event provided a week of fun and spiritually enriching activities for children aged three to 15.

Theresa Saber from Meals on Wheels, shared her excitement about the programme, “VBS is a wonderful opportunity for children from our community to have fun-filled, spiritually enriching days. This year’s theme, offered an engaging environment with various interactive stations.”

The programme, designed to immerse children in biblical teachings through dynamic and enjoyable activities, featured several key stations. Each day began with a lively introduction to songs, memory verses and a call-and-response session.

Saber said, “At the prayer station, children explored different types of prayer, the bible story station featured interactive stories that brought the lessons to life. The craft station allowed children to express their creativity while deepening their understanding of the daily theme and the game station offered engaging games that helped children burn off energy.”

She added that each day concluded with a review of the day’s lessons and an opportunity for children to contribute to the mission project. The programme culminated in a special ceremony on June 29, where each child received a certificate of attendance, celebrating their participation and accomplishments throughout the week.
