Captain Louise le Roux, the communications officer for Brighton Beach Police, has issued an appeal for assistance in identifying the deceased.

“The incident occurred on the evening of June 4 at approximately 18:15. Members of Brighton Beach Police were dispatched to the scene of a culpable homicide on the M4 southbound, just before the Clairwood off-ramp. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of an unknown African female pedestrian, approximately 30 years of age,” said Le Roux.

The woman was found wearing a black-and-white patterned dress and a wristband with the name ‘Noxolo Makhanya’ inscribed on it. Despite this clue, authorities have been unable to confirm her identity or locate her next of kin.

Brighton Beach Detective Services are appealing to anyone who may recognise the description of the deceased or the name on the wristband to come forward. They are particularly interested in hearing from family members or friends who can assist in identifying the woman and notifying her family.

Detective Warrant Officer Brad Varley is leading the investigation and can be contacted at 031 451 8028 or 031 451 8000.

The Brighton Beach Police are dedicated to ensuring that the deceased’s family is informed and given the opportunity to make the necessary arrangements during this difficult time. Any information, no matter how small, could be crucial in helping the authorities complete their investigation.

For more information or to provide any tips, please contact Detective Warrant Officer Varley directly.
