Wentworth Angels call on community to support sanitary drive

RESPONDING to the escalating need for hygiene essentials among underprivileged youth, Wentworth Angels has launched a sanitary drive.

The drive aims to provide essential toiletries to young girls and boys until June 16, with a focus on ensuring access to products that promote cleanliness and well-being.

Tracey Williams, Wentworth Angels founder, emphasised the urgency of addressing the scarcity of hygiene products among youth, especially amid rising poverty rates. Understanding the significance of personal hygiene, the organisation has meticulously curated a list of essential items for both genders, aiming to assemble 30 packs for girls and 30 for boys.

“For the girls, we are looking for sanitary towels, roll-on, spray, hair food, a toothbrush, toothpaste, bath soap, lotion and, most importantly, pads. For the boys, we are looking for spray, roll-on, gel, a toothbrush, toothpaste and lotion,” said Williams.

Previously, Wentworth Angels conducted toiletry drives, but due to escalating poverty levels, it was removed from their project roster. However, Williams stressed that the soaring demand for hygiene products compelled them to reignite their efforts, and they were determined to make a positive impact by addressing this critical need.
