Rubbish dumped on N2 northbound near old Durban airport causes obstruction
Motorists are advised to avoid travelling on the N2 northbound carriageway near the old Durban airport.
HEAPS of sand and rubbish that was dumped on the N2 north, in the vicinity of the old Durban airport, a short while ago, on February 28, is causing major traffic delays.

According to PT Alarms’ spokesperson, Dhevan Govindasamy, it is alleged to have been dumped by municipal employees. “Heaps of sand and rubbish are obstructing the freeway,” he said.
eThekwini Municipality executive committee member, André Beetge, said a group of between 200 to 300 protestors, predominantly from the Durban Solid Waste department, have caused havoc outside the Durban City Hall. “Refuse bins have been thrown over, and litter strewn across the street,” he said.
Beetge added that they have moved to various other areas around Durban.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible to ease the traffic congestion.
Metro police are on the scene to assist with the flow of traffic.
