Police launch festive season operations

As the festive season nears, Wentworth police initiated its vehicle stop and search duties on The Bluff.

WENTWORTH police launched their festive season duties in a joint operation with several other police stations in the eThekwini district.

Stops and searches by Vispol members focused on dangerous weapons, illegal possession of firearms, drugs possessions, ATMs robberies, robberies in malls, shopping centres, container robberies, e-hailing cab related robberies cases, carjackings, house and business robberies.

Spokesperson for Wentworth police, Captain Mbuso Gumede, said vehicle checkpoints were part of the focus areas.

“Members from other police stations partnered with Wentworth police to fight crime and stabilise the area. We urge residents to report crimes immediately,” Gumede added.
