The run, scheduled to start from the Blue Lagoon on October 15, is a world-class 5km road run that is set to captivate entrants, young and old, social and elite, in the scenic tour of Durban.

Stillwater Sports managing director Michael Meyer said they are excited to launch the race that is designed to accommodate participants of all fitness levels.

“With the 5km distance being a global favourite, this event attracts a diverse range of runners, from seasoned athletes seeking to push their boundaries to newcomers exploring the world of road running. By infusing excitement into the sport, the Boxer Super Run aims to contribute to the growing popularity of shorter road races,” said Meyer.

The highlight on race day will be the Boxer Super Run Elite Race where SA’s elite athletes will go head-to-head in a men’s and women’s race.

He said that with the elites vying for the coveted title of King and Queen of the inaugural Boxer Super Run 5km, these two races are going to be fast.

Boxer Superstores’ head of Department: Marketing, Lee-Ann Pillay, said, “We are proud to host the most social run in South Africa, right here in KwaZulu-Natal, the place where it all began for Boxer, 46 years ago. We are thrilled at the prospect of seeing many runners, both professional and social, taking on the 5km race, and I encourage you to purchase your entry tickets now as they are going to sell out fast! We cannot wait to see you at the Boxer Super Run.”

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa Act: Regional Sales execution manager, Hlengiwe Khanyile, said, “Boxer and Coca-Cola have unleashed a winning partnership. We’re excited to sprint towards a shared goal of conquering a 5km run, while energising communities with every step.”
