Deadline looms for NPOs to submit application for City’s grant-in-aid

Organisations within sectors such as sports, culture and recreation, early childhood development, economic development, among others, have to submit there applications by July 31.

THE eThekwini Municipality is calling on non-profit organisations to send through their applications for the 2023/ 2024 Sundry Grant-In-Aid by July 31, at 12:00.

According to the municipality, organisations within the sectors: sports, culture and recreation, early childhood development, economic development, social welfare and skills development, as well as religious/ faith-based organisations conducting work for the community at large, are considered for support.

However, political organisations and co-operatives are excluded, as well as organisations that have benefitted from the Grant-In-Aid programme in the past two years.

Applicants are requested to complete an application form and submit all the relevant information and documents.

These include:
– Organisation Constitution/ Trust Deed/ Article of Association.
– Audited financial statement for the past two years/ financial information and affidavit.
– Registration certificate (NPO Certificate).
– Business implementation plan.
– Bank statement (latest available at time of application).
– Certified copy of the ID book of persons signing the application.
– Detailed budget breakdown, list of needs, specific to the request for funds.
– Progress report on how previous funding was spent.
– List of goods required/ budget breakdown.
