Ward 66 residents invited to public meeting

The meeting will provide an update on initiatives and concerns in Ward 66.

WARD 66 residents are invited to attend a quarterly public meeting hosted by councillor Zoë Solomon on May 30, at 18:00.

The meeting will be held at the old boxing club, situated at 186 Tara Road, and is aimed at keeping residents up-to-date with relevant issues, programmes and initiatives within the ward.

Darryl Govender, the Ward 66 committee secretary, said members of the committee want to encourage the benefits of a well-informed community.

“The meeting will provide an update on everything that is happening and for people to participate. It is recommended that residents join street groups or WhatsApp alert groups in their areas.

“For more information or to be added to the groups, residents can send their names, contact numbers and streets names to ward66@ethekwini.org.

“We also recommend that residents, who have access to social media, check Facebook for updates from the councillor and to stay connected on community issues.

“We are hoping that these are effective ways to keep the community informed and we have communication channels which are well established.

“Street alert groups and notice board groups can assist in building a stronger community. The meeting will enhance the relations between the committee and residents, thereby creating a better community,” Govender said.
