DO not miss out on the fun Durban has to offer this weekend. Find pleasure in raising funds for charity, and let go of all the week’s blues in a party. Here’s a list of fun activities you can get up to this weekend in Durban. 

Ales for Tails fundraiser

The Durban Home Brewers and friends are excited to bring back ‘Ales for Tails – 2022 Edition’.  The fundraising home-brew and spirit festival will be held on Saturday, August 6, where money will be raised for the Kloof & Highway SPCA. This is the first year this popular event will be held since lockdown, and they’re expecting it to be the best yet. All the musicians also donate their time for free to help make this event a success. Enjoy all the fun with R150 for drinking and R50 non-drinking. 

 

Global team horse racing

Global Team Horse Racing (GTH), a team-based thoroughbred horse-racing product, launches its full racing series to thrill crowds.

The first GTH Live Series debuts on August 5 at the Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse in Durban from 17:00 to 20:30. The series will be run under lights on Fridays, for over four weeks, and is packed with excitement for fans of all ages. These high-octane two-hour events are full of thrilling races, gripping entertainment and a kiddies’ area for the younger fans, all set right at the trackside.

Three teams go head to head over four events, but only one team can come out tops!

Choose your team, support them and see who makes it to the final!

 

Power party

POWER PARTY is the final bang for the Durban Power Talks programme, showcasing the pulse of the city.

Enjoy POWER EXHIBITION at Community ZA, live music by musician Mike Makhosini and vibes by DJ Zeedah, Panamera and Night Vision at GUGU WIFI. The power party will be on 3 Millar Road, Durban on August 5 from 18:00.  Get interactive and enjoy the outdoor space with live mural painting by Meg Moore.

Enjoy a winter wonderland experience all year round at Snow Wonderland, right through August at the Gateway Theatre of shopping. Experience adrenaline-pumping snow slopes, build a snowman, play in the snow or put your throwing skills to the test at our snow target wall.

Each session runs for a period of 45 minutes and costs R105 for a full access ticket, or you can opt for a discounted spectating ticket.
