Bluff athlete grateful for donation

Geared up for the challenging Comrades Marathon, Fynnlands Athletic Club member, Phiwe Mthembu from the Pholla Park Informal Settlement, was grateful for a generous donation towards his journey as he prepares for the ultra marathon.

Donations including a brand new pair of running shoes, two pairs of socks, gloves, food for preparation, supplements, drinks and medical supplies to assist him in the build-up to the race, as well as the race, was arranged by a group led by Melissa Welgemoed from Bluff.

The 2022 Comrades Ultra Marathon will be held on Sunday, August 28 and will return with a down run of 90km starting from Pietermaritzburg.
