“The flu vaccine is safe, recommended for all age groups and is the most effective way to prevent infection this season,” said Lisa Giltrow, senior pharmacist at Medirite.

“While flu can impact all age groups, some groups and individuals are more at risk than others. In particular, the elderly, pregnant women, children, those with chronic conditions, and health care workers are at increased risk of contracting or being severalty affected by flu,” explained Giltrow.

Medirite is offering the flu vaccine at its 144 pharmacies located across South Africa. All major medical aids are accepted.
