Do your part for the environment and partake in upcoming beach clean-ups

Do your part to save our oceans and marine life.

IN celebration of World Whale’s Day recently, Clean Surf Project members, along with the community and eThekwini Municipality, collected 621.50kg of recyclable and general waste at Umbogintwini Beach and Rivermouth.

“The municipality services beaches daily, focusing on bathing areas and surroundings extending to the north and south of such locations. Therefore, we focus on non-bathing beaches that are situated close to rivers as most litter is being flushed from storm water drains and pipes into canals and rivers, ending up in the ocean and along our coastline,” said Clean Surf Project’s founder, Denzil van der Westhuizen.
