KZN SAPS secure over 90 arrests in a week

The wanted suspects were arrested for various crimes such as rape, sexual assault, robbery, kidnapping and assault.

NINETY-EIGHT wanted suspects were arrested in different districts in KwaZulu-Natal following an operation conducted by The Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences Unit.

From Thursday, March 3 to Sunday, March 6, the team of detectives went to different areas such as Inanda, KwaMashu, Pinetown, Pongola, Mountain Rise, Kranskop, Msinga, Eshowe, and other areas.

“The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is continuing with their mandate to root out all the sexual predators in our community,” said KZN police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbele.

The arrested suspects are aged between 15 and 89 and were arrested for various crimes such as rape, sexual assault, robbery, kidnapping, assault, and other cases. They appeared at the various magistrate’s courts across the province.
