WATCH: Grosvenor learners protest after allegation of racism

Learners disrupted lessons for the day.

POLICE were called to Grosvenor Girls High School earlier today after learners broke into a frenzy and protested following allegations of racism by a staff member.

The outgoing chairperson of the Bluff Community Policing Forum, Andy Rossel, said the forum was aware of the protest and the video footage of the learners, which have gone viral on social media.

“We have viewed the footage and are monitoring the situation. We will be addressing these issues,” he said.

Learners were seen protesting at the school premises after allegations of a staff member referring to them as ‘monkeys.’

Social media was abuzz after the video was released on a Facebook group, sparking concern among parents whose children were still at school.
