Meet the vibrant recruit, Phumlani Dlamini,32, from Umlazi, who is new to journalism, but is ready to make a splash.

Dlamini matriculated in Adams College in 2008 and graduated from Durban University of Technology with a national diploma in journalism in 2020.

“I am excited to be part of the team and I am ready to give it my all to bring the readers the best content,” Dlamini stated with pure excitement.

Dlamini says he loves reading and writing and enjoys time with his family when is not out looking for stories. He said that he decided to go into journalism in 2017 because he loves storytelling and all things reporting.

“When I was in varsity I used to get a thrill when I am out getting stories, that is when I knew I made the right decision by choosing journalism,” he said.

Dlamini is passionate about HIV education, he believes that people still need to be more educated about it and is a subject to not shy away from. He is looking forward to working with the Southlands community and telling their stories.
