Seminar aims to inspire and motivate

The event is aimed at building a spirit of togetherness to keep the community united to stave off the negative vibes that Covid-19 has created.

UNLEASHING people’s inner potential and strength is a passion for an international motivational speaker, Nelson Reddy.

The Merebank resident, alongside Pastor Manny Dasappa, will host a free motivational seminar with the theme be the best version of yourself.

The event is aimed at building a spirit of togetherness to keep the community united to stave off the negative vibes that Covid-19 has created. Reddy said because of the pandemic, many have found themselves in limited boundaries be it physically and or emotionally.

“The theme of this seminar is my signature topic for all my motivational talks. My passion lies in providing tools to achieve goals to people who do not know where to start. Under this umbrella topic, I talk about procrastination and the need for getting an early start to the day healthily.

“It uncovers why some put on a façade and why we need to drop the pretence. I’m passionate about helping people accept their flaws, I focus on their strengths and use that as an aid to achieving their dreams,” he said.

Reddy said the pandemic was not too much of a setback for him. It instead allowed him the opportunity to step up and take control of the situation.

During this period, he and Dasappa embarked on these motivational talks to uplift people’s spirits to keep them positive. He said the July 2021 riots also solidified reasons for unity in the community.

“I also used the time to formulate a smart stretch goal of walking 10 000 steps daily in the boundary of my own yard. I have not missed a day achieving that, illustrating that if we focus and put our minds to a goal, it can be achieved,” he added.

Entry to the seminar is free, however, booking is compulsory as seats are limited.

The event will be hosted at Merebank Community Hall on 2 Krishna Rabilal Road on Saturday, February 12.

The session will run from 09:00 to 17:00. For more information, call Nelson Reddy on 065 853 4014 or pastor Manny Dasappa on 082 448 9100.
