IF one of your New Year’s resolutions is to get back into shape, then look no further. Fitness enthusiasts in Wentworth have already started with their programme and invite you to try out a session.

The Dominate Fitness Club wasted no time in getting back into the swing of things, starting on Monday, January 3.

Held at the Blue Roof Life Space, on 178 Austerville Drive, sessions are designed to be highly motivated High-Intensity Interval Training, (HIIT) with skilled experts Declynn Johns, Marlon and Marvin Pretorius.

These are group exercises performed as fun workout challenges.

“So far things are good, as expected, most people are starting the year off with resolutions to take care of their bodies and goals to achieve. Sessions have been getting busier as the days go by.

“Our plans are to expose our fitness centre to the community. We’d like to promote general health and wellness, especially now that the pandemic seems to be less threatening to our bodies,” said Marvin.

He said that although pandemic was their biggest obstacle, which prohibited their in-person training, they are more optimistic this year as restrictions have been eased.

In the past two years, restrictions that resulted in sporadic closure and the general fear of the public towards training in shared spaces had been another challenge.

“These issues mentioned also meant that our gym struggled to grow because numbers fluctuated. Registered members struggled to find consistency which meant progression was very minimal, however, results were still produced by us trainers who had to think out the box to overcome all obstacles,” he said.

They aim to keep workouts fun, fresh as well as exciting this year. They also hope to push much harder to help individuals meet their personal goals.

At the end of the day, Marvin said the idea is to instil fitness and health as a daily lifestyle to ensure the club’s ‘family environment’ is maintained.

“Members train twice a day and three times per week which gives individuals a minimum of 24 sessions per month. This is a huge perk with Dominate Fitness Club that our community should take advantage of,” he added.
