Councillors commit to giving their best to residents

Councillors Zoë Solomon and Aubrey Snyaman have penned down their wishes for the New Year in their respective wards.

As with all things new, the New Year is a time to make resolutions and hope for the best going forward.

While giving residents the best possible service delivery is nothing new, local councillors have penned down their wishes for the year for their respective wards.

Ward 66 councillor, Zoë Solomon:

Ward 66 councillor, Zoe Solomon.

Dear residents of ward 66, we have an opportunity to greet a New Year with hope.

Looking forward and going into 2022 as a united community under the banner of progress and transparent cooperation to work together to be the best ward we can be.

I am a firm believer in excellent communication and hard work being the way we will survive the daunting tasks of receiving the service delivery we deserve. My commitment to you remains unwavering and you can be assured of my best at all times.

I commit to representing you well to the council and to continuously report, give feedback, escalate and follow up on all issues we face as a community and as individuals, should problems arise with the service delivery to our beloved Bluff.

We face daily challenges of infrastructure malfunction and departmental budget issues but we will not lose faith that each problem can be tackled head-on and we can find solutions that work and are long-lasting.

Let us bear with one another and work together towards a common goal. I remain hopeful and motivated and look forward to success along the way.

Ward 68 councillor, Aubrey Snyman:

Ward 68 councillor, Aubrey Snyman.

I hope all of you had a blessed and joyous festive season and a happy and prosperous 2022 going forward. I am looking forward to working with various community members and organisations with positivity this year.

I hope for lots of job opportunities for the unemployed and especially the youth. We will strive for a reduction in crime and violence in our community and more houses being developed in our community and surrounding areas.

My wish is to see families getting together and supporting each other and standing as one. I hope more young people will get involved in sports and recreation rather than getting involved in crime and ending up in custody.

Projects started must be completed on time with more local businesses getting involved in them and giving equal opportunities to all businesses.

I would like to see more youth developing their skill in youth centres that are made available for them within our community.

I wish each and everyone a blessed year ahead and look forward to a happy, bright and optimistic 2022.
