Beneficiaries must update their details, says Sassa

Should beneficiaries not update their details at Home Affairs, it will result in their grants being declined.

THE South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has urged all beneficiaries to communicate any changes to their personal details, especially those who have gotten married or changed their surname at the Department of Home Affairs.

“These beneficiaries are advised to update their details. Failure of this will result in their grants being forfeited, should their details not match,” said Sassa spokesperson Paseka Letsatsi.

“A validation process for each applicant is done every month. When we match the information with Home Affairs and find that the surname has changed, the application will be declined, ” said Letsatsi.
